ummm sooo this is the life i guess? idk...
left where ever it was that i was at.... went somewhere different then i life there to and now im here. to be frank.. lol
so i have traveled to Maryland, New Jersey, and now Pennsylvania.
The last few shows have been going very well. getting some great houses some awesome people and all sorts of great things.
*note* humor in NJ is messed up. as are the accents*
Well today was not one of those days that things were all great and groovy. this was in fact a venue that was rather resistant and rude. Today we found ourselves in Princeton, NJ in a very old house. rather small and such but still a cool old space.
our crew today was made up of people close to my age, staff not students, and some elder guys that have been there awhile.
so the day started off like any other we show up, say hello check out the stage and start moving some stuff in. i treated everyone kindly like i always do, helping in the cases and such, then i go on stage and ask just a few questions to Steve just because i wasn't sure of the answer. it had to do with the house gear. i ask the question and the house TD (technical Director) answers back to me that "we have been doing this show for over 20 years, we know what there are doing". now i don't know if there was something that i said that made him respond in that nature or what but i just went with it. then i see we are setting up our band right next to the rail position, the place where people pull the ropes to make things fly in and out. now normally we ask the rail person if they have access to a double muff headset( just a large pair of headphones. the normal ones only have one speaking thing...*muff*) *note i asked the guy running the rail this question.* i get in response from their TD "look we have it under control just don't worry about it" i was a bit taken back by this. well come to find out that pretty much sets the tone for the entire day. for first 10 minutes ruins the day with the stage crew.
now i will say there were a few times that i did get a little annoyed with them but it was more or less a build up from them just being assholes to me. never listening to what i was telling people to do, or just flat out ignoring me and being pissy.
the big confrontation came just before the show started when i was attempting to page the curtain for the band as i do in EVERY theatre that we have been in thus far. mind you that's about 40 by now. all you do is grab lightly on two points of the curtain and pull towards you. making sure not to show the backstage. now while i am doing this the TD comes over to me and says "no i will do it" I'm like "ok that's fine" and then he grabs the opening of the curtain and just opens it... i was a lil irritated by this and said " that's not paging that's opening" he gets pissed off and says " alright you and me are having a talk right now!" i tell him after i send the band we can talk.
so he takes me to the side and tells me i have been rude and disrespectful to his crew, giving all of them an attitude and treating them like they don't know what they are doing. He tells me that i need to give more respect to everyone because this is their house and i am simply a guest or something to that extent. next he tells me that if i want to page the curtain i need to talk to him, if i want something done i have to talk to him to get it done. i cant just ask one of his crew..... this place isn't even a freaking union!!!! but i guess its still Princeton. lol
my response was that i was sorry for talking rude to him and that i don't know why his crew feels the way i do, i have meant no disrespect and they have done a fine job. they simply just refuse to listen to what i say or need to have happen. the only people that have been pleasant to work with was the LD (lighting Director) and the Sound crew. everyone else was very unpleasant.
Next he also says that i was out of line telling his crew that they could have some of the meat and other stuff that is downstairs. saying that "the venue pays for the talent to have lunch, not to feed us. " my response was " alright, well there is quite a bit of stuff and its tasty so if you would like some then its cool" he says back, " no we will not touch the food, the venue doesn't waste money to feed us." now im pretty confused. if the food isn't theirs then it is ours. if it ours then we dictate what happens with it. so if I tell someone they can have some then it is outside the venues slap on the hand... right? i mean we gave someone a sandwich and she said that she would get in trouble if she is seen with it.....
im like WTF MATE????
idk the venue was super small. i thought it was going to be larger.. oh well. but all in all a good show when it came down to it. honestly don't care to go back to Princeton... and no i didn't get any pics... im lame.
night night..
ohhh im in king of Prussia, Pa right now. woot. shopping at the mall tomorrow. and when i shopping i mean no buying anything.

where i find myself in all this snow.
So we have left Wisconsin. it was a good time there with a great crew and theatre. totally awesome theatre. heheheh love my job.
so Madison, WI is a pretty cool place. kinda small and such with all kinds of traffic but all in all a hell of a lot better capital than Oregon has... i mean Salem? come on!
so anyways. their capital is really pretty and the layout around it is kinda mess but still kinda cool in a really stupid way as long as you aren't driving anywhere... heh
As for the rest of the road and trip things are going well. the truck decied to die in Iowa city but then we were able to get that repaired.... i think i need to post on that still .... idk.. from that point we had a crazy 6 am drive to madison, did what we needed to do there and then stayed an extra day. also the night of the 16th i think it was, we celebrated the Chinese New Year! this is the year of the tiger! hehe im excited because thats me! YUS!
we ate all kinds of foods. all of them looked realllllly gross and most actually were. but reguardless i still have my standard to try anything that is from another culture. so i tried most of the dishes. the fish, pig ears, mushroom, pork things, and the chicken. like i said MOST was pretty gross...
so there were these dumplings things that were great, they are a tradition in all chinese culture to make for the new year. they are easy to make and festive... or as festive as a dumpling can get. also as a added bonus their is placed in a unknown amount of them a penny. when ever you find the penny you exchange it for a dollar! its really cool and fun when you are searching for them. i did manage to get one on about my 10th dumpling.......everyone else only ate about 6 of them..... ugg i was totally full. then after we eat and everything we go around to all the groups and wish everyone a happy new year. its a great time and you really feel welcomed by everyone. be that and illusion of the time or true fact, it is yet to be decided. all in all though it was a great night. then i drank my dissirono and passed out.
then end. for Wisconsin at least....

some new pics.
so we have traveled a lot lately. been all over and back again.
we were in washington late last month. since then we have gone to Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri........ its been a bit of driving.
i only have a few pics of things for you. for through all the driving i haven't seen anything that i nor anyone else would ever find really intesting. just a few things here and there.
Disaronno is really yummy
so now i come to you from kentucky... its a cool place with amazing alcohol stores.. hehehe yes that is what makes us happy. a huge array of liquor... lol they had the most stuff i have ever seen in a store, plus they had party supplies!!
hahah
:EDIT: so i forgot to mention that i, number one, got my own room for the time we were there. which i enjoyed with late night dance raves with my stickam buddies and chick flick night with my fave Dino Taco... lol nicole. (ok so that didn't really happen... meh) so while enjoying my room i was able to relax and it was well needed with all of steve huffing and puffing about every small ass thing there was to be. mans got a lot of stress i tell ya.
also the venue was a huge ass massive hall that was sooo pretty! the stage was very large and the space was nice to have. also for kentucky they are really cool with gays. for their LD and the sound enginer were both VERY gay. it was cool. LD was a pretty funny butch and SE was a typical metro.
ohhhh and the new massive attack cd is really good!
so on the travels across the states we didn't get to see much because there wasn't much to see once we left utah. Utah is a very pretty state really. i enjoyed driving through it. the people were nice and mormon.... which was eh.... but still a very cool place for most things that you would want to do there. The rest of the drive was on I-80 which was just long and boring pretty much.
so i dont know what else to write for this part so im going to show you some pics
