well here i am again.
To say it has been awhile would be an understatement, and i promise i have a little bit of news this time,.
soo lets start with were we left off last time.
new hampshire was a lot of good times, i got to call the show and had fun doing so, the group that we worked with was amazing this time. and the TD at the theatre, Quintin, was probbly one of the single coolest persons i have ever met! really nice guy, took care of all the issues and was so smart and expieranced on so many levels of theatre. someone who i could really learn a lot about, thats for sure. he has been working for the last 3 years or so on updating and beautfying his theatre. and i would have to say that he is doing an incredible job on it. (pics to come.....if you're lucky) the theatre is called The Music Hall and its about 2 hundred years old or so. so much history and so many strong good feelings in the place!
the day after we left Q was to have a meeting with the historical board to see if he could do some more fantastic things to the theatre making even better than it was before. that guy is a real saint in the world of lost theatre. i praise you mate.
next up was to go to lowell, Mass.....it must of been great....i dont remember it. haha no it was a good time. a college auditorium that had a really small dead hung grid.. we were able to put up the movers but that was about it... it was tragic.... there was one girl that steve and i really liked. good hugger as well! hehehe
steve was jealous. i laughed!
i learned something that night too, when steve says no bounce he doesn't mean no bounce. he means, "we are going to do the finale without closing the curtin" well thats just fine and dandy but he forgot to mention that part to me!!!!! and then when i closed the curtin he kept saying, "NO BOUNCE NO BOUNCE!!" which to me ment that we were done.....
it was lame and looked like crap because i had brought the house lights up and everything... twas totally lame.
ohhh and that night it was really cold. nothing some drinks cant remedy! heheheh
next on the list, Mahwah,NJ simple college venue, fun college kids to work with, good show over all, i will be returning there....
oh oh oh now i get to go to Albany,NY!!! yay.....
sooo the venue is called THE EGG!!!! yeah it really is and yes it kinda looks like an egg.... sorry i didn't get any pics of it...
soo the thing about this place is this. steve has been talking this place up the entire tour, saying that it is a pain in the butt, that it is strict union and that i will be handleing very little of what is to happen there. that i should used it as a learning experiance....
so when we get there i have it in my mind that they are all hard ass union workers and this isn't going to be very fun at all......
wrong.
the house is far from union. its a house like i like to run, a do what you have to do to get it done kind of house. everyone did everything. which was really helpful. the lead TD and light tech were old weathered guys that just knew to much of what they were doing so the entire thing went so smooth.
steve ran the show that night. i got to chill out back stage and smack a guy that was taking pictures with flash on.... fat bastard...lol jk jk
left there and stayed in the ghetto motel 6. checked in at 6pm.......our rooms still werent ready... freaking stupid.
finally got into our rooms at like 8pm or something. and a BUNCH of the rooms weren't done right at all... it was way sad.
i was happy everything i needed was there.
so the next place we were off to was henderson,NC
this was a college venue. with nothing to offer....but two decent spots from the 50s lol jk
its intresting how some places don't have a real address.... the college doen't exist on any maps or gps..... the college name shows up about 10 differnet places in the city when you look it up in google but trying to find the right address... hopeless.
so we had two days in henderson allowing us to load in one day and then do the show the next day. so because the place was sooo damn easy i told steve to just stay at the hotel and relax due to his already stressful day. so i get to do the load-in by myself and i have to say it was fun. but i really need to figure exactly what i want when i and forced to choose something to scratch or to choose between one thing and another. so its a bit of a long road to get all that down par. but the load in went well and the show went well also. kids show in the morning and then a late night show for the blue hairs. lol ....it was a blue room alright.
and here we are today. the day we traveled to FLORIDA!!! YAY!! WARM WEATHER!! WOOOOT
so we left henderson at 6 in the morning.... uuuggg way early..... and then we started driving.....and driving.....and driving.....and yeah i was able to wait at a gas station for like an hour when i needed gas but didn't have the damn card...ugg
bottom line. North carolina, pretty. south carolina, even prettier. Georgia, reallllyyy pretty and so nice to see! Florida, TROPICAL RAIN FOREST!!! hahaha this place is really pretty wonderful and muggy as hell.... but i dont mind it because i was in a great mood and and and i didn't have to wear my sweater at all today!!! except for right now... because im outside and it is 11:47 at night and im pretty sure its like 65 or something out here.. tis LOVELY!~
so we have two shows tomorrow and then some traveling and shows but my last show will be on the 24th... i think thats the day that yoko graduates!!! im so proud of her! she has done so much and gone so far... i really love that woman! <3
ok i know my posts suck, but its ok because you are only guests to reading what i want to write for myself to remember things by! HA!
peace and love from Florida!
